Arc Clayton to have fun anniversary of ADA laws | Information

JONESBORO – The Arc of Clayton County is partnering with One Voice Georgia to celebrate the 31st Anniversary of America’s With Disabilities Act with a celebration scheduled for July 26th at 9:00 am at the Clayton Center at 217 Stockbridge Road in Jonesboro .

Local and state government officials will be on hand to discuss the importance of the ADA and the future of the law to protect the rights of people with disabilities. Officials who confirmed their attendance include State Representative Kim Schofield and Clayton County Commissioner Felicia Franklin. Others who may be present include Congressman David Scott and Congressman Nikema Williams.

Alongside government officials, disability service providers and advocates will speak about current services and the direction they think would be best for the future of ADA.

Outgoing Arc State Director Stacey Ramirez is recognized for her services and new Arc State Director Shannon Mattox is welcomed.

On-site voter registration is also provided by the Clayton County Voter Registration Office.

A virtual race will highlight the event, with customers receiving services, employees and members of the public being photographed crossing the finish line. Your photos will be published on #ONEVOICEGA.
