Govt rejigs disability advisory board | Goa Information

Panaji: The state government has reconstituted the state advisory board for disabilities and appointed 44 members to the board to discuss and decide on issues relating to people with disabilities.
The board has been in existence for three years and must meet every six months. While the board of directors is headed by Social Affairs Minister Milind Naik, several MLAs from the opposition also fill the seats.
Curtorim MLA Aleixo Reginaldo Lourenco and the BJP MLAs Alina Saldanha and Nilkant Halankar have been appointed members. President of the Disability Rights Association of Goa Avelino D’Sa, Research Center of the National Association for the Blind Mahadev Sawant, Director of Caritas Goa, Fr. Maverick Fernandes, Chairman of the Sanjay School of Special Education Guruprasad Pawaskar, are also members of the Board
The government has also appointed industry representatives to the State Advisory Council on Disability, with mentioning of Goa Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Manoj Caculo and Goa Industries Association President Vishwanath Kochkar.
