The Modi government has developed an e-SHRAM portal that is sown with their aadhaar cards.

It is the first national database of unorganized workers, including migrant workers, construction workers, gig and platform workers, and others.

All registered, unorganized workers receive accident insurance cover for one year through Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY). It will also be helpful for state and central governments to assist eligible UWs in the event of a pandemic / disaster. Registration started on August 26th.

Construction workers, migrant workers, street vendors, domestic workers, milkmen, truck drivers, fishermen, farm workers and similar other workers are recorded in the e-Shram portal. Over 38 million unorganized workers are registered on the eSHRAM portal.
