The Independence Middle internet hosting annual ADA celebration Thursday

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colorado (KKTV) – The Independence Center, a local nonprofit and civil rights advocate for the disabled, is holding their annual ADA celebration Thursday!

This year’s theme is “Celebrating Independence” and will host a variety of speakers who “tell their stories of the obstacles they faced, how they overcame them, and what the word“ independence ”means to them,” the center said.

The event takes place virtually so that you can follow it from the comfort of your home. It runs from noon to 1. If you want to participate, simply click here to register and receive an access link!

Would you like to watch but can’t watch at lunchtime? The center says the video will be available on this page a few minutes after it ends. Past events can also be viewed there.

The Independence Center works with individuals, their families, and the community to help the disabled live independent lives. The center serves all who consider themselves disabled, including physical disabilities, cognitive disabilities, blind / visually impaired, deaf / hearing impaired, and mental health.
