Metropolis of Toledo | Division of Neighborhoods to Report…

The Department of Neighborhoods for the City of Toledo is seeking comments on their draft Consolidated Annual Performance and Assessment Report (CAPER).

Residents are invited to attend a virtual public hearing to learn more about how the city is doing in the 2020 program year, which ends on Sept.

A summary of the draft CAPER will be presented on Thursday, September 2nd at 5:30 pm. The public can take part in the meeting virtually at this link: https://toledo-oh-gov.zoom.us/j/83764727325 or by phone at 866 528 2256, conference code: 800378.

Comments on the 2020 draft CAPER are welcome during the public hearing. The City of Toledo is accepting written comments from the public starting Tuesday, August 31 through Tuesday, September 14 at the following address: City of Toledo, Department of Neighborhoods, 2020-2021 CAPER, One Government Center, Suite 1800, Toledo, Ohio 43604, or by email to [email protected].

The 2020 draft CAPER presentation will provide an assessment of the federally funded programs monitored by the Toledo Department of Neighborhoods:

  • Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) for community, commercial and residential construction
  • HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME) for residential construction
  • Emergency Solutions Grant (ESG) to eradicate homelessness
  • Neighborhood Stabilization Programs (NSP) for housing construction
  • Lead Hazard Control and Healthy Homes Grant
  • Other US Department of Housing and Urban Development grants and US Treasury Department grants

The Toledo Department of Neighborhoods works closely with the Toledo Lucas County Homelessness Board to support the goal of eliminating and reducing homelessness and with the Fair Housing Center to promote fair housing in Toledo. Further information on the progress made in these areas will be provided during the public hearing.
