REYNOLS was founded in Buenos Aires in 1993 and consisted of Roberto Conlazo, Alan Courtis and drummer Miguel Tomasín with Down syndrome. Reynols has worked live and in the studio with renowned artists such as Pauline Oliveros, Lee Ranaldo (Sonic Youth), the Nihilist Spasm Band, Damo Suzuki (Can), Paul Dutton, John Oswald, Michael Snow, Alan Licht and the Birchville Cat Motel, Jaime Davidovich, Duilio Pierri, Pajarito Zaguri, and Acid Mothers Temple.
Reynols is one of the longest running inclusive bands of all time. With the group, Miguel Tomasín was the first musician with Down syndrome who played daily on Argentine national television (ATC, currently Channel 7, 1998). For his work in Reynols, Miguel Tomasín is considered one of the world’s most relevant personalities with Down syndrome. His name is mentioned in several books on neuroscience and neurodiversity. Tomasin’s work has been largely inspirational and has helped develop positive visibility and inclusion prospects for people with “learning disabilities” on a global scale.
REYNOLS will release his new album “Gona Rubian Ranesa” on the Canadian label Outlier Communications. The record will be available in LP and digital formats and is the band’s first studio recording in 17 years.

REYNOLS band facts
Reynols was named a “cult group” by the prestigious British magazine The Wire, while the French festival Sonic Protest proclaimed it the Groupe Phare (lighthouse group) of inclusive music for people with disabilities.
Throughout 2003, Reynols ranked 1st in the Top 10 Downloads category on the former Space-Rock (UK) website. A year later her song “Manisero Mufuso” was number 1 in Larry “Fuzz-O” Dolman’s Blastitude Top10 (USA).
The Japanese magazine Studio Voice has Reynols’ album Barbatrulos in its “Best 100 Western Alternative Music Records” ranking and Reynols / No Reynols among the “300 Legendary Discs” of all time.
British magazine Fact ranked 10,000 Chickens Symphony as one of the “20 best Argentine psychedelic records” ever made.
Reynols was the first band led by a person with Down syndrome to appear on the cover of a weekly music supplement (Sí) in Argentina’s largest newspaper, Clarín.
In 2011 the band was featured in the national newspaper Página / 12 as one of the “1000 bands you should listen to before you get old” (Las 1000 Bandas que hay que escuchar antes de envejecer) and in 2018 organized the Médiathèque Musicale in Paris an exhibition about Reynols.
The “Minecxio Emanations 1993-2018” late box set was selected by The Wire for the Top 50 “Archive Releases of 2019” and on “Why … Do You Like It?” Awarded the “record of the week”. Blog (USA). The band’s work with Tomasín is mentioned in several books. Recently a Spanish publisher added the band to a sticker album.
Reynols is also known for its musical diversity, spanning everything from cosmic free rock and lo-fi drone music to improvised, experimental music, conceptual sound art and social / political / esoteric observations. The group has appeared in several documentaries.
