HHS Secretary Xavier Becerra will spotlight the work of the Biden Harris Administration’s COVID-19 Surge Response Team with Nevada public health officials

On Thursday, July 22nd, U.S. Department of Health (HHS) secretary Xavier Becerra will travel to Nevada for an update and attend a briefing with public health officials on the work of the COVID-19 jump response Government of Biden-Harris to participate team in the state. Nevada Governor Steve Sisolak will team up with Minister Becerra on the visit.

Secretary Becerra will tour the Clark County Fire Department training facility, where the COVID-19 Surge Response Team is coordinating its response and supporting state and local COVID-19 vaccination and containment efforts. While on site, Minister Becerra receives a private briefing from local officials, including staff from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and Centers for Disease Prevention and Control (CDC), as well as state and local officials. A pool spray will be placed at the beginning of the briefing and Minister Becerra and other officials will provide an update and attend a press availability immediately after the briefing.

Later on, Secretary Becerra will visit a pop-up vaccine and testing clinic for COVID-19.
