CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) – Kim Nuckles has been named director of the Office of Equal Opportunities in West Virginia.
Governor Jim Justice announced the appointment of Nuckles on Wednesday.
Nuckles will remain state coordinator of the Americans with Disabilities Act, a role she has held since 2012, the governor’s office said in a press release.
Nuckles will work to ensure that the state adheres to the same labor laws and practices to prevent harassment and discrimination in the workplace. She will conduct public outreach through training, literature and materials, as well as working with other agencies and groups to promote diversity and inclusion, the statement said.
“I’m particularly excited to use my experience as the state ADA coordinator to continue working to improve both accessibility and fairness within the West Virginia government for all citizens,” said Nuckles.
Nuckles graduated from West Virginia University in 2001 with a law degree.
