Approval of the following measures:
– Mr. Cliff Bujold, Lake Elmo, raised concerns about the traffic and noise on Manning Avenue and Highway 36.
– April 6, 2021 and April 13, 2021, County Board meeting minutes.
– Appointment of Gary Severson, Oakdale, for a partial first term expiring December 31, 2022, to represent District 2 on the Parks and Open Space Commission.
– Appointment of Thomas Dunlap, May Township, for a partially first term that expires on December 31, 2023, as company representative on the Workforce Development Board.
– Deputy District Administrator Jan Lucke reported on updates to state and state legislation. Ms. Lucke reported that county officials had submitted two projects to U.S. Representative Betty McCollum for the federal transportation and infrastructure bill that would create a multimodal trail link between County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 5 and Browns Creek Trail and a transportation hub includes Highway 36 and Lake Elmo Avenue. Employees, in collaboration with Chisago County, submitted an application to US Representatives Tom Emmer and Pete Stauber for funding for Highway 8 improvements. Employees keep a close eye on various legislative issues, including budget, transportation, and tax bills.
– Again, ensure that all donations over US $ 1,000 are formally accepted by the county board, as per County Policy # 2509.
– County Administrator Kevin Corbid confirmed the upcoming resignation of Community Services Director Tom Adkins.
– Board workshop to review redistribution requirements and schedule.

– Resolution no. 2021-053, application to conduct games of chance off-site for the VFW Post 323 Auxiliary.

It is hereby announced that the Washington County Board of Commissioners will meet on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at 9:00 a.m. in the Washington County Board Room (5th floor) at 14949 62nd Street North, Stillwater, MN 55082, to review and review changes under the Washington County Development Code to enable coordination of membership between the Planning Advisory Commission (PAC) and the Board of Adjustment and Appeals (BAA) as recommended by the Planning Advisory Commission. A copy of the full text of changes to the Washington County Development Code can be obtained by contacting the undersigned.

NOTICE OF THE PUBLIC HEARING TO CONSIDER A
INCREASE IN TRAFFIC SALES TAX
UNDER MINNESOTA STATUTE 297A.993
It is announced that the Washington County Board of Commissioners will hold a public hearing in the County Board Room of the Washington County Government Center at 629th Street North 14949 on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at or after 9:00 a.m. Stillwater, MN 55082, considering an increase in sales and use tax from 0.25% to 0.5%, allowed under Minnesota Statute 297A.993 the financing of the development and construction of road and bridge projects. State law, commonly known as Local Options Sales Tax, allows counties to impose sales and use taxes of up to 0.5% and vehicle consumption tax of up to $ 20 per vehicle. Starting or increasing the tax requires a public hearing and the county board must issue a county board order. Washington County currently has a 0.25% tax on sales and use tax and a $ 20 vehicle excise tax on transit development and operation.
All interested persons can appear and be heard at the time and place indicated above. In addition, all interested persons can submit written comments by email to [email protected] prior to the hearing date mentioned above. Comments or concerns will be made available to any county commissioner and will be recorded in the public record.
