UN Incapacity Rights Committee to evaluation France and Djibouti

GENEVA (August 16, 2021) – The UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CRPD) will review France and Djibouti at its final meeting from August 16 to September 17.

The two countries are among the 184 states party to the Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities. They must undergo regular reviews by the committee of 18 independent international experts on how they are implementing the Convention and the committee’s previous recommendations.

The CRPD, which received the respective country reports as well as submissions from non-governmental organizations, will discuss a number of topics with the two country delegations in public online dialogues on the following dates:

France Dialogue: August 18, 20, 23, from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Geneva time

Dialogue in Djibouti: August 27 from 12:00 to 14:30

August 30th and September 1st from 12.30pm to 3pm, Geneva time
