ADA upgrades on U.S. Hwys. 212 & 85 proceed in Belle Fourche | Native Information

BELLE FOURCHE – The South Dakota Department of Transportation announced Friday that ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) pavement improvements will continue on US Highways 212 and 85 in Belle Fourche, with additional traffic control changes.

As of Wednesday, traffic on US Highway 212 west from Ninth Avenue to Sixth Avenue was reduced to one lane.

Today, traffic on US Highway 85 from Custer Street to the intersection with US Highway 212 will be reduced to one lane per direction.

The next phase of the project includes ADA upgrades at the Summit Street intersection of Highway 85, with the final phase including improvements to the intersections for the Highway 85 and Highway 34 intersections. The final phase of the project begins after the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.

Black Hawk’s Tru-Form Construction is the prime contractor for the project. The first phase of the project will be completed in July and the overall deadline is October 29th.
