A Maryland lawmaker wants all state voters to mark their ballots with devices rather than their hands, arguing the move would make voting more equitable for people with disabilities.
Maryland voters currently have the option to use a ballot at personal polling stations. According to the Maryland State Board of Elections website, these devices create “a voter-verifiable paper record and [allow] Voters with disabilities can vote privately and independently. “
